When we went to pick him up, the same lady in the front desk said he could never stay there again because he was "aggressive." When I told her that he has never been aggressive in his life and asked her to describe what she defines as aggressive, she said he "was trying to eat people." This was not only a bogus exaggeration, but completely beyond what actually happened. When we met the lady who took care of him, she said he was perfectly fine, and that she really liked him. When we went to get him from the cage, my "aggressive" dog was just lying on the floor completely calm and unmoved by everything.
This Clinic always provides my pets with the best service. I feel confident they will receive the attention and the care they need. I know they are in very good hands. Thank you Lake Wales Vet Hospital. Everybody is friendly and attentive to our needs.,
We have been using this facility for over nine years. No complaints about service at all. We've seen at least five vets there and they are all friendly with us and careful with our dogs.
DON'T BRING YOUR LARGE DOGS HERE. We brought in our 5 year old German Shepherd for a short boarding stay since we would be out of town for four days. Being that he was nervous, he was moving and jerking about and due to his size he frightened the ladies at the front desk. They immediately accused him of being "aggressive" when he was just scared, and didn't even want him to stay in the first place once we were already there. They also had to give him a shot, which the front desk lady (blonde, didn't catch a name) refused to and instead wanted one of us to do it. When we insisted he wouldn't do anything, she finally gave him the shot to which he didn't even flinch; it was as if nothing happened. Still, they all refused to touch him which we completely understood and we took him to the cage ourselves.
We received terrible service from the front desk lady, who never even gave him a chance. These people obviously work at a veterinary, and you'd expect them to know and understand all dogs, but apparently big and scared German Shepherds are out of the question. If she can't do her job properly and care for ALL animals, she should not be working where she is.
Just do not recommend this place. They would not even call my dogs vet to get his records, so I could purchase his heart guard. They told me that my dog had to have another exam, when he had already had one in Wisconsin. So I called my dogs vet in WI, and they willingly sent me his heart guard here to FL. They make nothing easy at this place, and are rude on top of it..
This is the place to bring your pets to. I have a skittish rescue dog who is still finding out that people are ok. The staff takes the time to make the animals feel comfortable and safe. My pup actually didn't back away when one of the ladies reached over the counter to say hello to him.
